BOTTOM LINE: I have talked openly about how much I admire Unilever’a Sustainable Living Plan. ORIGINAL POST: Just imagine this scenario: a male CMO & male SVP of Brand, a male Chief Creative Officer, and even male Directors of an Ad Agency hatch a plan to have the Ad Team fly to five cities and film women walking into office buildings or malls for a female soap product. But first they plan to put up two huge signs: on top of Door #1 is a sign that says BEAUTIFUL. On top of Door #2 is the sign AVERAGE. And then they film the majority of the women walking through the AVERAGE Door! Wow you can’t even make this stuff up…I really need to help CEO Paul Polman promote the positive self-esteem in his Sustainable Living Plan. As some of you know, I helped him clean up the Axe Ads (see all Videos to CEO Unilever on YouTube), but now I’d like him to hire me to give Dove a Creative Makeover. As I pointed out in my prior Dove post, Beautiful is a man’s word (click to see more). But there’s more that Unilever’s CEO needs to know: the BuzzFeed Beauty Editor mysteriously had her critical Dove post temporarily deleted – and then restored when BuzzFeed’s Editor-in-Chief admits he blew it after a Slate article. So why did he temporarily delete the post? Last time I checked PR Firm Edelman had been contacted, but there was no comment – Richard & Sir Martin please give me a call. Because I suspect Paul will be siding with me – because top women Execs, Journalists & customers are worn out being told we have to think like men. Calgon take me away ~

LEADERS I have two important things to announce. First I have been very busy the last three weekends working on my CANNES CHIMERA entry for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I am honored to be a part of this challenge around eliminating extreme poverty off the planet by 2030. Did you know there are 1 Billion who still live on less than $1.25 a day? Learn more here by watching one of my favorite interviews of Melinda Gates by CBS. Did you know even in the US a recent study found that 50% of Women in the US fear falling into poverty. The volatility and bubbles in the economy have impacted everyone, and my view is that we need more stability everywhere. On that note, I believe I have a very good answer for The Gates Foundation, Bill, Melinda and Warren Buffett. I hope they will pick my entry (watch more details in my next post). I took this honor very seriously and for the last two years have worked diligently on Executive Coaching, Videos, Speaking & Social Media. WHY? Thank you Michael. CEO Paul Polman of Unilever has also added a Woman to his CEO ULE TEAM after Sandra tweeted Unilever HR in the UK about living up to his Catalyst award. In addition after Sandra’s January Video to Sir Martin Sorrell of WPP Group, he stated in a Reuters interview that women are often better at advertising. STAY TUNED

I am delighted to share the details of this challenge with you and with five of my FAVORITE DAVOS CEOs: Paul Polman of Unilever, Sir Martin Sorrell of WPP Group, Michael Corbat of Citigroup, Muhtar Kent of Coca Cola, and Michael Dell of Dell.
Here I invite the CEOs to contact me to schedule an on camera interview. I have handpicked five CEOs to lead the way on getting 30% Women to Davos. As the winds blow cold in Davos, we will be plotting a strategy here in Florida to make all CEOs worthy of their Catalyst Awards, the McKinsey research Women Matter, and the other awards they are picking up. The percent of women at Davos (just 17%!) remained flat this year, but we have a master plan to fix that. With the CEOs’ permission, we want to film a portion of the meetings to help lead the way for all their female customers. Leaders I want to share a Special Valentine Message this year. I would like to welcome Davos Men to the Largest Economic Opportunity Worldwide. Did you know that women are the largest consumer market and an increasing percentage of business purchasing? Did you know that just 7% of people worldwide have a college degree (about 30% of people in Western countries) but women currently make up 60% of college graduates in the US ? Did you know that just about 8% of people in Western countries have a post-graduate degree but that my MBA class was 40% Women two decades ago? Unfortunately 90% of the Angel Investor & VC Money is still going to men! Yet women in their 40s and 50s are starting more new companies than any other demographic sector but many have to use a personal credit card (with high interest rates) to start one. Banks: how are you doing on Small Business Lending?…Companies: Why are we stuck at just 16% Women Board Members for the last ten years in countries without a Quota? What does Leadership Look Like to YOU?…Meantime only 3% of Creative Heads at the major Ad Agencies are Women??…Looking at many of the Super Bowl Ads, the gentlemen need some help! (Calgon, take me away… :-))

Today’s Davos Woman Question is for Bank CEOs. Leaders did you see the article in American Banker about the new Citigroup Executive Leadership Team? It points out that the new Leadership Team of 24 people is all male with the exception of one woman. When I attended a top school MBA program many years ago my class was 40% female. I also know from my work as an Executive Search Consultant and Executive Coach that there are many amazing and talented women for Boards & Executive Teams. So BANK CEOs I would like to work with you to achieve 30%+ Women on your Leadership Teams. Why? Because otherwise we are all missing out on the largest economic opportunity worldwide: Investing in more #DavosWomen.
